THIS IS PART 2, LISTEN TO PART 1 FIRST TO GAIN FULL CONTEXT

Does Your Understanding of Faith Align With the Bible, the Word of God?

There is something important to consider when listening to a message or studying your Bible: If what you are hearing or receiving does not align with the Word of God, you may be left without the biblical foundation you need to stand against deception.

This is what happened to Eve in the Garden of Eden. When the serpent questioned her about what God had said, Eve's response included words God had not spoken. God had commanded Adam not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16–17), but Eve added that they were not to touch it (Genesis 3:2–3). The serpent then used the opportunity to challenge God's Word.

This is why it is so important to examine what we are taught and make sure it agrees with Scripture. We must not simply accept a message because it sounds good, comes from a respected preacher, or appeals to our emotions. We must search the Scriptures and test what we hear against the Word of God (Acts 17:11).

Today, faith is sometimes taught in ways that can lead people to believe God has failed them when the outcome they expected never comes. But what if God never made the promise they were relying on in the first place? We must learn to distinguish between what God has actually said and what we have been told, assumed, or hoped He would do. Before we put our faith in a promise, we must know whether that promise truly comes from God.

This Short Audio Story lays down a clear example of What Faith Is. We look forward to your comments afterward.
